Happy Heart

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

O-bservation:

The greatest king who ever lived, David of Israel, said that his God was his everything. So much so that at the end of the day he had a “Happy Heart,” and sang songs of praise to Him.

A-pplication:

Eventually our wonderful Jesus must be our ALL in ALL, or not much at all. For David, the Lord had become his ALL in ALL. Because of that, his daily routine ended with a song of praise to Jesus and a “Happy Heart.” I find that when I go to bed praising Jesus I sleep better and longer. If on the other hand I go to bed troubled, feeling as though I have to work things out in the morning, there’s little joy in the morning. At the end of the day, songs of praise to Jesus always crescendo into a “Happy Heart.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I wish I could sing better, but I know it won’t affect the heart of joy I receive when I sing praise to You! Amen
