He’s Got This

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

O-bservation:

Here is a case in point where God spoke directly through His choice servant David, King of Israel. He said to the people of Israel, and all of us who are "Followers of Jesus" today, “Calm down, settle yourself and know that I have everything under control. In time I will be exalted in the nations of the earth. In fact I will be exalted in the entire earth.”

A-pplication:

The word from Jesus to you today and ALL day today is, "Calm down, let the stress go, 'I've Got This.' Anything you're challenged with today ... 'I've Got This.' If you're concerned about your family, 'I've Got This.’ If you’re worried over your personal finances, 'I've Got This.’ If your boss is about to fire you, 'I've Got This.’ I can heal your family issues, open the windows of heaven’s bank, and provide an even better job for you, 'I've Got This!’" The truth is, you're not the only one Jesus is caring for today. He has every human on His radar. Those who love Him, and those who do not believe. "He's Got This." So please realize you may be forgotten by those close to you today, but Jesus is a friend who sticks even closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). He knows exactly what you’re facing, and rest assured … "He's Got This!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I'm so thankful this AM that I am not facing one challenge that You are unaware of. I'm glad that You have a solution that I don't even know about, so I will calm down and rest! "You've Got This!" Amen

Be Honest About It

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 86:1 Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

O-bservation:

Toward the end of his life, King David gave a personal offering to the Lord to start the building fund for the temple his son Solomon would build after David's death. The offering in today's dollars would total around $870 Million!! And yet earlier in his life David cried to God and said, "I am poor and needy."

A-pplication:

David had learned through his years of following the Lord that there is much more to life than money. He realized that to have earthly wealth and yet still be dependent on your own ability, strength, intelligence, and wisdom was useless. In fact, that kind of a life leaves a person "Poor and Needy." I think what makes David's life so special, and why he's so much more than just another king, was his candor and flat out honesty. How many people do you know who seem to have everything but peace? Why is that? Perhaps they just won't admit that what they thought they needed the most hasn't brought "Peace of Mind." Instead of admitting it, they continue to pursue the same old thing. "Be Honest About It!" We don't need more of us today. We need more of Jesus.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, With an open heart this AM, I admit I have more than I deserve. But without You and more of You, I'm just "Poor and Needy." I need you Lord and I always will. Amen

God’s Got YOU!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 135:14 For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.

O-bservation:

King David failed on numerous occasions in his walk of faith. But if David learned anything from his failures, it was that God knew his heart and would NEVER forsake him. In the end, he understood that no matter the consequences of sin, God would in time vindicate His people and show compassion for His ministers.

A-pplication:

Make no mistake, there are indeed consequences for our sinful actions. My father used to say, "Son, for every kick there is a kickback!" It really is the "Law of the Harvest." But in no way does this alter God’s unfailing love and compassion for any of us. His Grace is all encompassing. God can even turn bad things around for our good. Why? Because in our weakness His strength is made known by His Grace. Use caution in turning to others in your greatest times of failure. So often those we think to be our friends are actually pleased when we fail. Worse than that, they appear to be on a permanent holiday and can't be found when we need them most. BUT! ... Our precious Lord Jesus, will not turn a deaf ear or appear to be out of town when we call on Him. NO! He will show us compassion and in time will even vindicate us. So be encouraged today ... "God’s Got YOU!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I thank You that You love me in spite of my failures. Not only that, but You actually turn my failures around for Your glory. I'm happy that ... "You've Got ME!" Amen

Who Ministers To You?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 101:6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.

O-bservation:

As the King of Israel, David had many people under his rule of order who didn't keep the rules. He had people he had to be concerned about, but his focus was not on them. He made it very clear that his attention was on people who were faithful. People he could really count on dominated his attention. Not only that, he said, "The ones who live faultless and blameless lives before the Lord, those will be my pastors. Those are the only ones I will allow to minister to me."

A-pplication:

As the years pass, I'm more aware than ever before that it's important who we let into our personal territory. There are plenty of folks out there who would like access to you, but for the wrong reasons. The question is: "Who Ministers To You?" Whoever spends the most quality and quantity of time with you will have influence with you. In addition, you will find yourself becoming like the one you let minister to you. None of us have an excess of turns Around The Sun. "Who Ministers To You?" The answer is: those You let in! CHOOSE WISELY.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Let me choose wisely the ones I allow into my private world to minister to me. I want to stay on the path that You, Lord, have chosen for me. I'll need ministers to do that! Amen

Just Keep Saying It!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 56:4 In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

O-bservation:

Here was a man who was being chased by his enemies. He wasn't just any man; he was the greatest King in Israel's history—David. Fear had overwhelmed him so he began to confess the opposite. He said, “I'm not afraid,” and then he went on to say that his God is so powerful that nothing his enemies could say or do will be able to succeed against him.

A-pplication:

Sometimes the best thing you can do to a challenge is speak to it. When I was a small boy, we used to sing a song in kid’s church. "Be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, there's a God up above looking down with arms of love, so be careful little eyes what you see." David was afraid. So instead of going deeper into fear he spoke to his fear. He said he would not be afraid and that his God was with him. If that wasn't enough, he said the same thing a few verses later in this chapter! David's plan was to ... "Just Keep Saying It!" Just like you can talk yourself into sin by telling yourself it's okay and no one will know, I believe with God’s help you can talk yourself out of fear. Because words build faith or fear, and your actions follow your words. Talk faith today! Then ... "Just Keep Saying It!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Because of Your care and concern over me, I will not be afraid today. Like I said ... I will not be afraid today! Amen!
