Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 2:1

He said to me, “Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.”

O-bservation:

Ezekiel was one of the great prophets of the Lord in history. At the beginning of his calling he says that God spoke to him and said, “Get On Your Feet!”

A-pplication:

There have been times in my life that I missed important information because I wasn’t really paying attention. It’s not something any of us are proud of, but think about how much trouble you could have saved yourself if you had listened more intently. That’s what God wanted Ezekiel to know. He wanted Ezekiel to hear His instructions so earnestly that He said “Get On Your Feet, I Want To Speak To You!” I believe He was saying if you’ll pay attention to detail you’ll accomplish more with less trouble. It’s true for a nation of people, but it’s also true for you and me. “Get On Your Feet!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m on my feet and I’m all ears! Speak to me Jesus, I’m listening and ready to obey! Amen

Level Ground

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

O-bservation:

King David asked God for instruction on living this life for God’s purposes. Then he asked that the Holy Spirit would keep his feet planted on “Level Ground.”

A-pplication:

As a young boy growing up in the church my father Pastored, we would sing, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Wow! How true that was then, but even more so at this time in my life. Sometimes it takes years to really see the need for a life lived on “Level Ground.” How many times have you witnessed a friend or family member keep switching to something else to try and find something solid to really build his or her life on? The truth is, the only real “Level Ground” is Jesus. David found that out some 3,000 years ago. Thankfully, you and I have learned that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever! That’s called “Level Ground.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this AM that I’m NOT walking on sunshine, but I am standing on You, my “Level Ground.” Amen

We IMITATE What We Have EXPERIENCED

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

3 John 1:11

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

O-bservation:

In this passage, John the Evangelist (or Apostle) likens the way we live to what we have experienced in knowing God. When he talks about Seeing God, he is actually speaking about Experiencing God. So if we’ve experienced God, we will operate in GOODNESS. If we have not experienced God, EVIL will be our practice.

A-pplication:

The truth is, “We IMITATE What We Have EXPERIENCED.” Knowing God means we have experienced the wonderful Goodness of God and now know how to live and please Him. For those who have yet to know the Lord, they have no reference point for Goodness. They are left to live life on their own. A life without Jesus relegates us to operating only from our lower nature, which is rooted in selfishness and sin. The mission of every “Follower Of Jesus” has always been to introduce everyone we know to Jesus. Because, “We IMITATE What We Have EXPERIENCED.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me today to introduce people to Jesus, so they will know the best way to live and have eternal life. Amen

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 John 1:4

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

O-bservation:

It is assumed that John the Apostle wrote this letter to the Church as a whole at that time. It is also believed that the “lady” he addressed the letter to in verse 1 is a metaphor for the Church. John was thankful that “SOME” of the people in that day were following Jesus.

A-pplication:

Most “Followers Of Jesus” know the passage in 2 Peter 3:9 that says God doesn’t want anyone on the planet to go to hell. At the same time, all of us on the planet were given a “free will” at birth. Because of that “free will,” any of us can choose to reject the loving grace of our Lord. That’s why, no matter how desperate we may be to win the entire planet for Jesus, in the end only “SOME” will actually yield their lives to Jesus. “SOME,” but not ALL. I’ve known this from the time I was a young believer, however it has never deterred me from believing that ALL may come to Christ. Like our Lord and Savior Jesus we will always reach for ALL, knowing that in the end only “SOME” will be saved.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m believing that as I go into the marketplace today I will find my ALL saying YES to Jesus. Help me! Amen

RESIST

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 John 5:21

Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

O-bservation:

This word by John concludes the book of First John. There had been phony prophets and teachers in that day who were pulling the people away from the truth. John fought these falsities and concludes by saying, you must “RESIST” anything that pulls you away from worshipping Jesus.

A-pplication:

In this short sentence we see the challenge that lies before every “Follower Of Jesus.” There is always the call from the Lord to move forward in love and purpose and passion to do the will of God. On the other hand, there is always the pull from the other side to check out what allurements entice one’s soul from hell itself. John the Evangelist writes, “Dear Children, keep yourselves from idols.” He was saying “RESIST” the enemy’s pull on your soul, because it only leads to death. So today, while you move forward joyfully in Jesus, keep “Resisting” the pull from the other side. It is in this battle that true Christian strength is developed.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Today I look forward to serving You with my whole heart AGAIN. Amen
