A Place With Space

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 36:16 He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place free from restriction, to the comfort of your table laden with choice food.

O-bservation:

This young friend of Job named Elihu continued to encourage him. He said to Job in the midst of his pain, “God is pulling you out of your weakness and struggle into an incredibly spacious place of victory.”

A-pplication:

Every painful place for a “Follower Of Jesus” is an opportunity to elevate from the pain to a better Place with Space through faith. Perhaps you’re in a very tough place right now and you’re wondering, “How much longer?” The answer is most likely connected to two things. First, are your enduring the challenge through faith? And second, are you ready to walk out of your weakness and into God’s spacious place? You’re not about to walk out of the fire and into the frying pan. The Bible tells us, “We will reap a harvest if we do not give up!” (Gal. 6:9b). Through spiritual endurance we always graduate to a better place than where we began. That place, in God’s time, will be “A Place with Space.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I’m ready to move to “A Place With Space.” Amen

God’s Always Speaking

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 33:14 For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it.

O-bservation:

Job’s friend Elihu brought a powerful thought to Job’s attention. Job had questioned whether or not God had answered his prayers. Elihu said, “God’s Always Speaking.”

A-pplication:

What Elihu was saying to Job was simply that we don’t have the full intelligence or wisdom to accuse God of not communicating with us. This young friend of Job said God does speak! He communicates one way this time and another way next time. In the next verse he said that God speaks at night, in dreams and in visions, while a person is in deep sleep, but “God Is Always Speaking.” If you will think back to that time, maybe it was only yesterday, perhaps that really was the Lord speaking to you. Samuel had to ask his priest Eli three different times if he had called him at night. Finally, Eli said, “The next time the voice speaks to you say, “Speak Lord for Your servant is listening.” Now if it took a priest three times to figure out that God was trying to speak to a little boy, imagine how we often overrun the Lord’s voice with our own excuses and accusations that, “God never speaks to me!” Please, please, please, keep your heart and ears open because “God’s Always Speaking.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Here’s what I want to say to You this AM: “Speak Lord for Your servant is listening.” Amen

EVIL And DARKNESS, Instead Of GOOD And LIGHT

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 30:26 Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness.

O-bservation:

Job, whom the oldest book in the Old Testament is named after, said that he had come to such a vexing place in his life that when he hoped for good, evil came instead. He said when he looked for light, darkness was all he could find.

A-pplication:

Have you ever been in a similar situation? The news is increasingly evil and what people think about moral structures is easily a one-eighty from the way some of us were raised. And ... when we push forward to see positive change, we see “EVIL And DARKNESS Instead Of GOOD And LIGHT.” So the question is, do we just give up and run to a hiding place away from people? Not a chance! We “Followers Of Jesus” were born for times such as this. In the middle of this deluge of impossibility, Job fought through it. He didn’t quit, and in time he was elevated to an even more renowned place than could have possibly been imagined. I believe we are in a position to win like we’ve never known winning before. The important thing is to keep believing for GOOD AND LIGHT!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, You are my GOOD and LIGHT. I’ll keep my eyes on you and believe that the best is yet to come! Amen

Better Than Shock And Awe

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 25:2 Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.

O-bservation:

These are the words of Job’s friends while he was still languishing in suffering and pain. They spoke of God’s almighty power, not only on the earth but reaching to the highest heights of heaven. In every place, The Lord has established order.

A-pplication:

Some years back, in one of America’s not too long ago wars, the attack was called “Shock And Awe!” In other words, the world would be in a state of “Shock and Awe” when they saw our mighty power. Obviously I love our country, but there really wasn’t much “Shock And Awe” to it. That country is pulling out of the mess and continuing on, and we’re still trying to amaze someone. The truth is, there is only ONE being in history who is capable of “Shock And Awe,” and His name is Jesus. He doesn’t just create order in the highest heavens, He actually made them and the world we live in. He certainly isn’t afraid of death because He conquered it. I can tell you this, His “Dominion And Awe” are “Better Than Shock And Awe” any day of the week.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I’m amazed at Your “Dominion And Awe.” I never stop giving You my worship. Amen

They’ll Never Get Away With I‎t

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 24:23 He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but his eyes are on their ways.

O-bservation:

For much of this chapter, Job has built a case for the fact that those who rebel against the Lord love the darkness. In fact, in one place Job says “Midnight is their Morning” (vs. 17). But now he says that God will let them operate with a feeling of everything is okay. However, HIS eyes are forever on their activities.

A-pplication:

It’s just amazing how so many folks are convinced that no one knows what they’re doing in the dark. Even more so, they don’t really believe God has a clue what’s going on either, or if He’s even there at all. Never forget that this passage had been written long before any of us walked on this earth. Job said that God gives the rebel a feeling of security, but He never takes His eyes off of their actions. EVER! The truth is, they can believe and act the way they want to but ... “They’ll Never Get Away With It!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I’m so thankful this AM that You NEVER sleep or slumber. I’m thankful that You care about a little sparrow. That’s why I’m convinced, You see and know it ALL. Lead on Lord, I’m right behind You. Amen
