Have You Made A Covenant With The Lord?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 31:1

I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.

O-bservation:

In Job’s desperation he racked his brain as to why he had been so tested by the Lord. Here he promoted the fact that morally he had made a covenant with his eyes not to look lustfully on young women.

A-pplication:

Let’s lay aside Job’s trouble for a minute. What he did was a good thing. He made a covenant with his eyes not to look on young women lustfully. For a man, the gate to one’s moral behavior is often the eyes. A man is moved sexually by sight. Job said, I’ve put a guard on my “Eye-Gate”! Whatever senses the devil tries to invade to get to your soul, it’s important for you to answer this question: “Have You Made A Covenant With The Lord?” A covenant is a contract, a promise, a guarantee, or commitment, in this case to the Lord, that you will guard your soul. No one will do it for you. You and I must be our own spiritual watchdog. Since it’s so important, I’ll ask it again … “Have You Made A Covenant With The Lord?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You for Your help in coming to an agreement. I must make a covenant with You today that with You’re help I’ll keep myself pure! Amen
