In this poignant moment from Genesis 3, God's question echoes through time and resonates in our lives. God's pursuit of Adam and Eve after their disobedience reveals His relentless love and desire for a restored relationship.

Today, let's respond to God's call by drawing near to Him through prayer, repentance, and a renewed commitment to follow His ways.

P-rayer:

Lord, forgive my distractions, and guide me in obedience. May my day be marked by a conscious awareness of You. Amen.

In The Beginning GOD!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 1:1. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

O-bservation:

The very first verse in the Holy Bible tells us …. “In The Beginning GOD… created the heavens and the earth.” On this first day of the new year remember….GOD!

A-pplication:

Seriously I can’t believe it’s already the first day of a whole new year. Every year that I take down the Christmas decorations I think to myself, “I should just leave the decorations up.” The reason I think that is that - as I’ve grown older “TIME FLIES!” Am I right? With the world being in an absolute crazy upside down way of doing things it’s important to remember, “In The Beginning GOD!” That’s right. Whatever problem or challenge or unforeseen event that comes your way always start with GOD! Why? Because God has always had you and He always will. IT all started with, “In The Beginning GOD!” And at this NEW YEAR BEGINNING, let’s still put all of our needs and fears and hopes and trust in “GOD!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, As I begin this new year today it has always been and will always be, YOU! I always remember that when it all began the Word tells me, “In The Beginning GOD!” Amen

More Than We Can HOPE For

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 48:11 Israel said to Joseph, “I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too.”

O-bservation:

Israel, formerly known as Jacob, was soon going to heaven. Before he did, he blessed his sons. He started with Joseph's two sons and said to Joseph, "I never dreamed I'd see you again, but now I'm also seeing your sons!"

A-pplication:

The truth is that all of us who follow the Lord wholeheartedly have a dream in our life that seems unlikely. However, it's God’s desire to give us, "More Than We Can HOPE For!" On one level we are believing for the impossible, and then the Lord, out of His own love and generosity towards us, gives us "More Than We Can HOPE For." Certainly this was the case with Israel. Many years before he had been led to believe that his son Joseph had been torn apart by wild animals. But all along God was preparing Joseph to save the world. Israel Hoped against HOPE that somehow he would see his son again. But ... GOD had more in mind for Israel. Always remember, Jesus wants to give us "More Than We Can HOPE For."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This is an easy devo for me to pen, because this has been my life. You've always given me "More Than I Can HOPE For." Amen

Old Guys Know Stuff

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 42:2 He continued, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.”

O-bservation:

Jacob at this stage was an old man. His sons, all twelve of them, were very much alive and prosperous. but a famine threatened the entire nation. The OLD dad heard that there was food in Egypt.

A-pplication:

Why hadn't all of Jacob’s successful adult sons heard there was food in Egypt? There's a network of wisdom that only "Old Guys" have developed through the years. Talent can't make it happen and luck can't either. It comes from years of living. Jacob and his "Old Guys" friend network passed the news along as to where the food was, and it saved what was to become the great nation of Israel. Here's the word for this AM, don't be too quick to throw the aged under the bus or set them out to pasture because ... "Old Guys Know Stuff."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Since you have helped me successfully reach the "Old Guy" stage in my life, I'm thankful. But even more, I'm thankful for guys even OLDER than me that I can still go to for INFORMATION. Amen

Let Go And Take Hold

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 35:2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes.

O-bservation:

The Lord wanted to do a new work in Jacob and his family. God told him to go to Bethel. Jacob immediately told his family and servants to get rid of all their idols and change their clothes.

A-pplication:

Jacob’s family and servants obeyed his command. In effect, they were repenting of their sin inwardly. They then changed their clothes as an outward show of what God had done on the inside. They had to "Let Go And Grab Hold." You may wonder what that means. If you want to go to a higher level in your faith, you will have to let go of what has been giving you false security to this point. Once you do, you can now grab hold of a fresh faith in Jesus. Indeed, Jesus will take you higher and farther than you ever dreamed. The Bible says that God put a fear in the hearts of all of Jacob’s adversaries. No one touched them on their way to the will of God. The same awaits all of us who are willing to, "Let Go And Grab Hold."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, You and I know the things that seem to regularly threaten me from going deeper with You. Today, with Your help I want to "Let Go And Grab Hold!" Amen
