Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 42:2
He continued, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.”
O-bservation:
Jacob at this stage was an old man. His sons, all twelve of them, were very much alive and prosperous. but a famine threatened the entire nation. The OLD dad heard that there was food in Egypt.
A-pplication:
Why hadn’t all of Jacob’s successful adult sons heard there was food in Egypt? There’s a network of wisdom that only “Old Guys” have developed through the years. Talent can’t make it happen and luck can’t either. It comes from years of living. Jacob and his “Old Guys” friend network passed the news along as to where the food was, and it saved what was to become the great nation of Israel. Here’s the word for this AM, don’t be too quick to throw the aged under the bus or set them out to pasture because … “Old Guys Know Stuff.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Since you have helped me successfully reach the “Old Guy” stage in my life, I’m thankful. But even more, I’m thankful for guys even OLDER than me that I can still go to for INFORMATION. Amen
