Brotherly Love

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 33:4

But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.

O-bservation:

Twenty years earlier, Jacob had stolen his older brother Esau’s blessing. Esau was infuriated and vowed to one day kill his brother. After the twenty years had passed, they met in the middle of nowhere. Jacob was sure his life was over, but when his brother saw him he ran and kissed him. They wept together.

A-pplication:

Sometimes we worry about things that never take place. Certainly Jacob had reason to be concerned. However, when the Lord told him to leave his father-in-law Laban and that He would take care of him, God meant it. Immediately Laban chased after him, but before Laban could reach Jacob the Lord spoke to him and said, “Don’t harm Jacob.” Of course Laban did not. Now, as Jacob approached his brother, the one thing Jacob hadn’t counted on was, “Brotherly Love.” God had so blessed Esau that there was no more animosity in him, only “Brotherly Love.” Never forget that Jesus is our OLDER brother. He’s coming for you this AM full of “Brotherly Love.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You’re the only Big Brother I ever had. This AM I want to thank You for always watching out for me. Amen
