You’re Called to COOK

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 46:24

He said to me, these are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple are to cook the sacrifices of the people.

O-bservation:

In this prophecy of Ezekiel, the Lord showed Ezekiel the kitchens where the priests were cooking the “Peace Offerings” of the people. This was the offering that the people were allowed to eat. In other words, they became immediate beneficiaries of their own offerings to the Lord. But not before the meat was boiled and prepared by the priests.

A-pplication:

Whatever you and I do for the Lord has a culinary component to it. Cooking is the “fine art” of making something with nourishment value taste better than it actually is. For instance, my wife can make Brussels sprouts taste delicious. Every form of service unto the Lord, when cooked properly, provides the people we serve with nourishment they didn’t necessarily want or even know they needed. You can remember teachers in your life who made certain subjects taste better than any other teacher you had in that field. I remember doctors I’ve had who really hurt me, but they did it was such incredible spice that I got healed and I still call them first above all other doctors when I’m sick. Whatever you’re doing with your life today, ask God to help you improve your “Cooking Skills.” Because the truth is … “You’re Called to COOK!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

As I continue to mature, don’t let me approach the service kitchen with an … “I’ve Got This” mentality. Help me stay fresher than the fare I’m serving. Help me to develop better “Recipes of Service” than I’ve ever presented before. Amen
