Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 2:13, 14
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.
O-bservation:
At the birth of Jesus, an angel appeared and a great heavenly host joined with the angel and didn’t sing, instead they said … “Glory to God in the highest heaven and peace be on all those who have been given divine favor.”
A-pplication:
The “Heavenly Host” and the angel on the day Jesus was born could’ve said a litany of different things, including … “We don’t believe he’s the Messiah.” Instead, they choose to praise the Lord by saying, “Glory to God in the highest!” It begs the question … “What are YOU saying today?” You and I always have a choice. When things are good we can say, “I wish they were better.” When things aren’t so good we can say, “That’s the way it always happens for me, I just can’t catch a break.” However, in our most challenging of times we can also choose to say, “Glory to God in the highest.” In other words … “Praise is Always Appropriate!” Sometimes you have to start talking until your heart catches up. “What Are YOU Saying Today?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Instead of reporting on today’s history of negativity like most good reporters do … I Choose To Praise!!! “Glory to God in The Highest!” Amen
