Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Jeremiah 31:25
I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.
O-bservation:
During Israel’s captivity by Nebuchadnezzar, God prophesied to His people that He was going to bring them out of bondage and they would be restored in the land of Judah. In this passage, He acknowledges that many will be completely worn out from it all. So He says, I will refresh those of you who are weary so those of you who are about to faint will be rejuvenated and satisfied.
A-pplication:
Have you ever been so exhausted, so tired, so worn out, that you really thought you were going to black out? That’s what fainting is. For a period of time, whether it be seconds or minutes, the lights go out, so to speak, and you faint. Often dehydration is the cause of fainting. At the end of a tough workout in the heat, nothing satisfies like a long, cold glass of water. Once it’s down, you’re satisfied. It’s like you’re alive again. God was saying to His people, I know what you’re going through. You’re at the point of fainting, but I’ll satisfy your weariness … “You Won’t Black Out!” Why? Because Jesus is like a stream in the desert (Is. 43:19). Whatever you’re faced with, no matter how weary you are, Jesus is on the way with refreshing that will satisfy YOU today.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
At my lowest, most exhausted points in life, You have always showed up with a glass of cold water in some form. I’m not giving up. I know I won’t black out. Amen
