The BEST Message Is The One You SEE

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

O-bservation:

The Apostle John was quite aged when he wrote this letter, and he referred to the “Followers of Jesus” in that day as “Dear Children.” Anytime we the “People of God” are referred to as children in Scripture, you can rest assured that the words are coming with Loving Fatherly Wisdom. And that “Loving Apostle” said, love requires more than words alone. Real love demands that actions and truth follow up those nice words.

A-pplication:

You’ve heard this said before … “Talk Is Cheap!” And that is exactly what John is saying here. Words are nice, but if they are offered from the lips of a charlatan what is left after the speech? We who are “Followers of Jesus” must do more than speak. We must ACT on our words of love. Once again, you’ve heard it said, “Our actions speak louder than our words.” This in no way discounts words. Words can bring Love, Encouragement, Joy, Security, and Peace to one who is hoping to hear the “Good News.” But again, it’s been said, “Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary use WORDS.” That’s what John the Apostle was saying, “The Best Message Is The One You See.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am reminded as I head out of the house that the best message I can offer to those I come in contact with today is my life. They’ve heard most of my words, but they’re looking for actions to back it up! With Your help I’m on it! Amen
