Why Wait?

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Lamentations 3:26

It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

O-bservation:

The great Prophet of the Lord, Jeremiah, most likely wrote Lamentations. And … it is a book of poetic sorrow or lament over the destruction of Jerusalem. This passage is actually a word of encouragement to all people, for all generations everywhere. And the encouragement is simply this; in your most desperate of challenges, when any potential for hope is lost, then it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

A-pplication:

There is no indication whatsoever from Jeremiah that God won’t bring salvation to us. No! It’s just a matter of when. “WHEN” is always the challenge for it is the one thing none of us on planet earth have had any formal training in. And of course I’m speaking of the word …”WAIT!” Waiting is not something that comes natural to humans. My dog will sit on the window ledge and wait all day for me to come home. We humans on the other hand … just don’t do “WAIT” well. But there is an answer I would give to the question of “Why Wait?” The salvation of the Lord will come when we need it most.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I hate waiting! There, I said it. But I also must say that when I don’t think I can wait another minute … BOOM! There You are with salvation for me. Thank You Lord! Amen
