Who Am I?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Samuel 7:18

Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said: “Who am I, Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?”

O-bservation:

At this time in the life of King David, he was facing a respite from all of his trials and tribulations. It was during this season of his life that he began to think about building God an earthly Tabernacle. God spoke to David through his Prophet Nathan. Nathan told David that he was going to establish his house and lineage forever. However he said, “You, David, will not build me a tabernacle but your son will build me a permanent place after you’re gone.” David agreed and in time Solomon, David’s son, built a tabernacle for the Lord to dwell in. But upon hearing the plan, David said, “Who Am I, that you would think of me in this fashion Mighty God?”

A-pplication:

In relationship to our great God, all of us who are “Followers of Jesus” should respond with a “Who Am I” kind of statement whenever and for whatever God chooses to bless us for! David’s “Who Am I” line is a daily reminder that no matter how high up the “Honor Roll” we score, the best response to any earthly favor we may receive from people, should always be, “Who Am I?” I don’t really deserve your kindness. It’s really only because of everything that Jesus has done for me that I can even continue. Really, seriously … “Who Am I,” that you would be so kind?

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

As I look over my life today and the hundreds of times You rescued me, and loved me, and cared for me, all I can say is … “Who am I?” I love You Jesus! Amen
