Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Matthew 21:10
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
O-bservation:
This is a remarkable passage. Jesus entered into Jerusalem at the end of His 3 1/2 years of ministry and most people didn’t know “Who He Was.” The reason this was remarkable is because from where I sit after being raised in Christianity, I would have thought that everyone in Jerusalem knew who Jesus was. I mean He had healed so many in that city. He had sometimes taught daily in the Synagogue. He was a pain in the back to the Pharisees in that city. But the truth is, not everyone knew who Jesus was. And so they asked … “Who is He?”
A-pplication:
We must never assume that all of our world, our country, our state, or most of all our city has heard the “Good News.” There are millions around the world who have never heard of Jesus. This fact is ON ALL Christians. All of us must band together and carry our fair share of “The Load.” “The Load” I’m referring to is the task of delivering the “Good News” about Jesus to people locally and around the world. This ongoing mission, which all true “Followers of Jesus” are engaged in, must be dedicated to bringing down the walls of sin and rebellion that are keeping precious souls separated from Jesus. We must tell the world about Jesus, because … “They Don’t All Know!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
You told us that if we followed You, You would make us “Fishers of Men.” I’m amazed that so many people just don’t know who Jesus is, much less where my church is. Please bless me while I fish today. Amen
