Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 137:3
For there our captors asked us for songs, our tormentors demanded songs of joy; they said, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
O-bservation:
Israel had been taken captive by the people of Babylon. While in this state of captivity, their tormentors wanted to hear their joyful songs of praise.
A-pplication:
For “Followers of Jesus,” there’s always a song of joyful praise that we have unto our great God. And those who refuse to believe still want to hear our song and experience our joy. The people of Israel said, “How can we sing the songs of the Lord while we’re in a strange land?” (v. 4). Here’s the deal, our songs of joyful praise mean nothing if we can only sing them in places of familiar comfort. Instead, our songs are best sung in hard places. It’s the joyful praise unto the Lord that will always turn heads and hearts. “Whatever You Do, Keep Your Joy!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Early this AM, You have put a song of joyful praise into my heart! I’m yours and I will sing today! Amen
