Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Daniel 5:23d
But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.
O-bservation:
Belshazzar was the son of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. On this night, he was partying in his giant ballroom when the finger of God appeared and wrote words no one could understand on the wall. Daniel was brought in to interpret the words. Daniel gave all the history of Nebuchadnezzar and how he finally learned who God was and honored him. But Daniel said, “You never learned from your father’s mistakes and never served the true God who holds your life in His hands.”
A-pplication:
It seems to me that when someone has history within their own family of the judgment and then the mercy of the ALMIGHTY toward their own father, that person should LEARN from that lesson. But Belshazzar partied harder than his father ever thought of. Instead of gaining WISDOM from history, he magnified his own IDIOCY. You and I have history to learn from as well. So, “Will It Be WISDOM Or IDIOCY?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Like Solomon this AM, I’m asking for WISDOM! Amen
