What A Song

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 11:15b

The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.

O-bservation:

Amidst incredible scenes of horror and just strange visions, which to this day are very difficult to interpret, John the Revelator had a sense of a choral sound coming from heaven. At least what John heard has been recorded by countless choirs and soloists the world over. The voices were singing that Jesus had become Lord over the entire planet because of His sacrifice and that He would have a “Forever Reign.”

A-pplication:

There is No Way that George Handel could’ve possibly known in 1741, when he used this passage from John’s Revelation as the anchor to his great “Messiah,” the impact it would have in time. “What A Song!” In my life I’ve seen every type of person you can possibly imagine stand in honor at the singing of Handal’s “Messiah.” To think that John the Apostle would be able to squeeze such gold into the middle of such carnage and difficult to read and understand Bible script is simply amazing. The next time you’re up late at night reading about “The 2 Witnesses” that are laying dead for 3 1/2 days in the streets of Jerusalem, don’t quit reading, because a pretty good “JAM” is coming. “What A Song!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

If I could figure You out, You wouldn’t be worth my worship. Help me when I don’t understand to keep on following You. Help me keep on chasing after You. And help me keep on reading! Amen
