Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Ezekiel 27:34
Now you are shattered by the sea in the depths of the waters; your wares and all your company have gone down with you.
O-bservation:
Tyre was a gorgeous coastal powerhouse of a city in Lebanon. Wealth was their moniker. They did business with every major country in the vicinity at the time, and they were the envy of everyone. Verse 33 says that Tyre sent their own products from their ports to the nations of the earth by way of great seagoing vessels. Tyre enriched the kings of the earth. But the great city of Tyre had a problem. It was called … PRIDE. The king of Tyre, though brilliant, was filled with PRIDE to the point of claiming to be a god (Ezekiel 28:2). The Lord said “the very waters that have been used to carry your products, brand, and fame will bury your wealth, ships, sailors, and city.”
A-pplication:
No matter how high a person rises in this life, the “RENT” for staying here will always be due. You can keep the “RENT” by saying “I Did It.” Or you can pay your “RENT” by saying “God Did It.” The first “RENT” allocation is paid to oneself through pride, selfishness, and idiocy. The second “RENT” payment is made in the form of Praise and Worship to Almighty God out of a thankful, generous, honoring, and humble heart. Praise and Worship is always offered from the heart and lips of a person who knows who is floating their boat. But when Praise and Worship of Almighty God is not present … “PRIDE Will Sink Your Boat.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This morning I Praise You, I Honor You, I Love You, and I Worship You! I beg you … keep floating my boat. Amen
