Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Joshua 18:3
So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?”
O-bservation:
Some time had passed since Israel had conquered Canaan, their “Land of Promise.” But seven tribes still had not claimed their land allotment. Joshua asked them, “How much longer are you going to take to step out and claim what God has given you?”
A-pplication:
You’ve heard the line said before I’m sure, “It’ yours for the taking.” Let me speak about “The Taking.” There’s Faith required, there’s Risk required, there’s Work required, and there’s a sense in which you are now moving from a comfortable place of having Nothing to maybe a more stressful place of having A Lot. At the same time … “What Are You Waiting For?” Perhaps you have prayed for a long time … “Oh God I want More, I’m ready for More,” and God has placed MORE right in front of you. It’s yours for the taking, and You Know what’s involved in “The Taking.” When you do finally step out and take what’s already yours, your whole life will change for the better. Your family, your friends, and your community will all be better when you step out and take what God has given you. “What Are You Waiting For?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
No more waiting for me. Today I will step out and TAKE what You have already given me, by faith. Amen
