Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-dcripture:

Ezekiel 15:5

If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred?

O-bservation:

God likens the people of Jerusalem to a USELESS root that has been burned on both ends but only charred in the middle. It won’t even burn clear through. God said he would destroy Jerusalem because it had so turned its back on him that it was no longer of value. It was just like this charred root. USELESS.

A-pplication:

When I was a little boy, my grandmother used to say to me, “Son get out of bed and come make yourself USEFUL to me today.” I was only 6 years old at the time, but for the year I lived back here in the states until my parents returned from the mission field, I learned to be USEFUL. It was quite a while before I met people who were mostly USELESS! I never wanted to be of no use to people or the Lord. Today, we hear so much teaching on purpose and vision and, “What are you doing with your life,” that it causes us to know that when someone is purposeless it’s easy to become USELESS. Certainly you’ve read the passage from Proverbs, “Where there is no vision the people perish.” With God’s help, none of us have to be USELESS. Instead, we can all be USEFUL! That’s my passion. I hope it’s yours too.

Dear Jesus,

Help me once again, dear Lord, to be USEFUL in Your kingdom. Thank You for the purpose You birthed in me long ago to be full of USEFULNESS! Amen
