Be Nice To The Little Guy On His Way Up Because You Meet Him On Your Way Down

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 17:24a

All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall.

O-bservation:

Ezekiel spoke for the Lord and prophesied that soon all of the tall trees in the forest would know that God brings down the tall tree and makes the small tree grow tall. He was using the tall and small trees in the forest as a metaphor for How he would bring down the king of Judah and the Pharaoh of Egypt who had exalted themselves against the God of all the ages.

A-pplication:

When I was a kid, my dad would always remind me, “Be Nice To The Little Guy On His way Up, Because You Meet Him On Your Way Down.” I didn’t really know what that meant at the time, but the older I got, I began to see great people fall from high positions of power in whatever area they were serving. So often, these people had grown such a big head that they assumed everyone was as arrogant as they were. That’s what had happened to Judah. God had given the people all the powers of heaven at their disposal, and they squandered it. One day they got dragged off to Babylon. The BIG TREE SYNDROME defeated Judah. God champions humility in the lives of His people. The power of this passage is, “Be Nice To The Little Guy On Your Way Up Because You Meet Him On Your Way Down!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, before I leave my house, I want to humble myself in Your presence once again. Help me remember that I’m the Little Guy serving the Almighty God of the Universe. Amen
