Unquenchable Love

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Song of Songs 8:7

Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

O-bservation:

The great wise man spoke of an undeniable, unquenchable love that cannot be broken. Throughout this book, Solomon speaks of the love between a man and a woman. But we also read in other parts of scripture of the love David and Jonathan had as a “Band of Brothers.” Certainly the three Hebrew children were unbreakable, as were Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Joshua, and Paul and Timothy. This unquenchable love is given by God, for God alone is love.

A-pplication:

Certainly there are those who we connect with more than others, and yet this kind of love that Solomon was speaking of is a “Divine Love.” It’s not a normal human kind of … “I’ll be there if I can make it” kind of love. No! This is love that emanates from the very heart of God. You could try and dry this love up, but it will not dry up. You can try and sever it, but it will not be cut in two. You could try and drown this love, but it will keep coming up for air. Why? It’s heaven sent. It’s God’s love. It’s the love that caused John the beloved to write concerning Jesus, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (Jn. 15:13). It’s called: “Unquenchable Love!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I always feel the pull of Your love on me. I feel it right now while I write. You never stop pulling on me. Thank you Jesus for loving me! Amen
