Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 111:4
He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
O-bservation:
The greatest King who ever lived, in my opinion and the opinion of many others, was Israel’s great “King David.” When speaking of Almighty God, David said, “He has caused His wonders to be remembered.” And of all the “Wonders” David could have recalled for this short passage, David remembered that God is wondrously Gracious and Compassionate.
A-pplication:
David was a Powerful King so he didn’t remember that God is All-Powerful, even though He is. David was wealthy so he didn’t remember that God owns the “Cattle on Thousand Hills,” even though He does. I could go on and on … BUT … David DID remember that he was a failure when it came to “Sinless Living” and so he remembered that God is Gracious because God is … Full of Grace. And then David remembered that his own father, when showing off his sons to the Prophet Samuel, forgot he even had a boy named David. At that point David remembered that God is “Full of Compassion.” Whatever it is that you are lacking today, God has a FULL supply to fill in your blanks. When you speak of the Wonders of Almighty God … “They’re Worth Remembering.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so glad today that I have so many memories of You filling in the empty spaces of my life, for my whole life. I can never forget You! Amen
