S-cripture:

2 Corinthians 7:10

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

O-bservation:

Here the Apostle tells us that “The BEST Sorrow In The World” is “Godly Sorrow.” He said it leads to repentance, but “Worldly Sorrow” brings death to everything around us.

A-pplication:

At this writing, there have been an avalanche of catastrophes in this country and beyond that have brought about great sorrow everywhere. In turn, it has resulted in people being so sorrowful that they have given beyond their means to help out people they don’t even know. This is an example of Godly Sorrow working for the good of humankind. On the other hand, we’ve seen a rash of brutal mass killings. So much of it has brought about Worldly Sorrow, which in turn creates thousands of posts and blogs and vlogs on social media that only result in more angst. Why not choose Godly Sorrow for a world that is desperate for help. Our Heavenly Father sent His only Son, Jesus, out of Godly Sorrow in order to redeem the world back to Him. That’s “The BEST Sorrow In The World.”

Dear Jesus,

Because of Your great love for me, help me move this AM into a broken world full of Godly Sorrow. Amen
