Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Hebrews 9:4b
This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
O-bservation:
In the book of Exodus, God gave Moses strict instructions on how He wanted “The Ark Of The Covenant” constructed and what would be placed inside. It was constructed to house the presence of the Almighty. It was carried on staves by the priests of Israel whenever they packed up and moved to their next campsite. It was also carried into battle. It let the people know God was always with them.
A-pplication:
In the New Testament book of Hebrews, the writer reminds us of three important artifacts in “The Ark Of The Covenant.” First, the ark housed the “Pot of Manna.” This artifact reminded the people of Israel that there would always be PROVISION whenever His presence was with them. The manna in the wilderness never failed. God’s provision and His prosperity were always there. The second artifact was the rod of Aaron that budded. This miracle happened when Moses went before the Pharaoh, demanding that he let God’s people go. Aaron’s rod represented the AUTHORITY of God. Finally, in “The Ark Of The Covenant” lay the tablets on which the 10 Commandments had been etched. The 10 Commandments represented the CHARACTER of God. There you have it. As believers, we are all in need of God’s PROVISION, His AUTHORITY, and His CHARACTER. Even in the New Testament, these characteristics and promises of God remain. As long as we invite Him into our lives, these three promises of God will always be present with us.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I am more than grateful for Your PROVISION, AUTHORITY, and CHARACTER operating in my life daily. Without Your presence, I do not want to attempt life on my own! I need You! Amen
