Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Hebrews 5:14
But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
O-bservation:
The writer of Hebrews told his listeners that they had been living on the milk of the Word of God for too long, and they were nothing more than infant Christians. He then said that those who get deeper in the Lord, by digesting the solid food, meaning the deep places of God’s Word, know the difference between right and wrong.
A-pplication:
Spiritually speaking, “Here’s What Solid Food Can Do.” Solid spiritual food helps you grow in your Christian walk with Jesus. The more you grow, the more you desire to be like Jesus. That means you’ve turned your back on the world, the flesh, and the devil, to move towards the Lord. The closer you get to Jesus, the more you hunger and thirst for righteousness. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled!” (Mt. 5:6). Now friend, when you are filled with the righteousness of God, you can discern the difference between right and wrong, good and evil! And that’s “What That Solid Food Can Do.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I cannot thank You enough for getting me off milk years ago and onto the solid food of Scripture, where I have feasted these many years! Wow! I feel strong in You, my Lord! Thank You!! Amen
