Your Bright Future

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 8:7 Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.

O-bservation:

Job’s friends were really taken to task by the Lord before Job was restored to even greater prosperity than he had once known. But during their counsel with Job, there were times they were spot on. Here Bildad, one of his friends, tells Job that if he will stay true to the Lord in the midst of his suffering his future will be even more amazing than his former days of prosperity.

A-pplication:

Have you ever felt like your best days were behind you? As you may already know, Job at that time in history was probably the wealthiest man in the east. He’d lost everything in a matter of a few hours. It was a test by God to determine his commitment to the Lord. I’m not going to discuss the theology of such a test, but I will say that through it all Job did continue to trust Jesus. In the end, God blessed and prospered Job double what he had in his former days. Never underestimate the power of your Savior. And ... never believe your best days are behind you. I believe that, like Job, very soon “Your Bright Future” will unfold.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Today, I will end any research of my past great days and believe You for My BRIGHT Future. Amen

There’ll Be NO End To It!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 9:7a Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.

O-bservation:

The Prophet Isaiah had just pronounced the future birth of Jesus, the Son of God. In so doing, he added ... His government will be so great and fueled by peace that "There'll Be NO End To It!"

A-pplication:

Can you believe that over 2,700 years ago this Prophet, Isaiah, saw what we are experiencing today? He said the Kingdom of Jesus would know no end. Think about that. He was a Prophet of the Lord. He had a wife and kids and saw things that no one else saw. In time, Jewish history tells us he was sawed in half by the most wicked king in Judah's history, King Manasseh. None of us living in the most prosperous nation in modern times have ever had to face a President who had leading ministers slain. And yet, with all the ease, what are we predicting in our time? Sometimes it feels like hardly any of us can see into the future except to hope for more ease. In the midst of such strife and eventual martyrdom, the great Prophet said “I see the King of Kings coming, and when He does His government will be so extensive There'll Be NO End To It!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Help me care more for people's need for HOPE than I do for my own well being. Amen

Run To Your Future

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 8:21 He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

O-bservation:

These are the words that one of Job’s friends, Bildad, gave him when he was at the very lowest part of his life. Job was in a hopeless state after having everything he owned destroyed in one day, along with his ten children, who were all tragically killed. With all hope completely lost, Bildad told Job that God does not reject the one who is blameless and that one day, he (Job) would be filled with laughter and shouts of joy again.

A-pplication:

What do you do when you have come to a place in your life where all semblance of hope is gone? If you are a firm believer in Jesus, you wait for a word from the Lord to come. Once it happens, and I believe it will, then “Run To Your Future.” Don’t give credence to the dark side ever! As a believer, there’s always hope. Whenever I’m down, I mean really down; I wait for the word of the Lord to come to me. It may come to me from a friend or from a message I’m hearing someone preach. It may come in a vision, or a dream, or a passage of scripture I’m reading, but it always comes. When it does, it’s a word concerning your future, and when you hear it, “Run To Your Future!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM, I feel, more than ever, the need to wait for your word concerning my situation. Because of what I’m going through, only you can give me the hope I need. When I hear your word, I will “Run To My Future!” Amen

Plan Your Future Before It Gets Here

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Leviticus 14:34-35 “When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a spreading mold in a house in that land, 35 the owner of the house must go and tell the priest, ‘I have seen something that looks like a defiling mold in my house.’”

O-bservation:

Rarely have I ever posted two verses of scripture in one of our daily devotionals, but today the verse and the idea needed more to make sense. The Lord said these words to Moses about Israel’s future. He said, “Soon, I will be giving you the land of Canaan. When I do, and I put a defiling mold into the house of one of my people, here’s what you are to do.”

A-pplication:

I really don’t want to talk about the theology of God putting a defiling mold in one of His people’s houses and how it was to be eradicated. What I want to talk about is why it’s important to “Plan Your Future Before It Gets Here.” The truth is MOLD in the form of something always gets to you sometime in your life. God taught Israel how to deal with challenges before they arrived so they’d never be caught off guard by trouble. Today the Lord is ready to help you “Plan Your Future Before It Gets Here” as well if you will let Him.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Here I am, Lord, ready and waiting. My eyes are wide, my ears are ready, and my heart is open to hear Your plan for my future. Please don’t keep me waiting. Amen

The FUTURE Is BRIGHT

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 39:29
I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.

O-bservation:

This is a prophecy from Ezekiel in which he saw the people of Israel turning back to God. This occurs during the seven-year period known as the tribulation. Modern theologians say we are not there yet, but some would argue that a portion of the Church is always going through some kind of intense tribulation. The Almighty says, “On that day I will pour out my Spirit upon them.”

A-pplication:

However you want to interpret the timing of this prophecy for the Christ Follower, “The FUTURE Is BRIGHT!” The New Testament tells us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Gal. 6:9). Yes, there will be times of tribulation, whether it’s the seven years the Bible speaks about or the tribulation that all of us have faced at one time or another. Tribulation for the believer is always a testing ground for better days. God never intends for us to be crushed by the tribulation that comes our way. Instead it’s the Lord’s desire that we are willing to pass through the tribulation victoriously, and when it is over we will be elevated to greater things. Remember: don’t give up, because “The FUTURE Is BRIGHT!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I must admit this AM that there are times when I think, “How much more can I take?” Yet through the years I’ve learned that You built me with the capacity to take whatever You allow to come my way. Thank You for trusting me. Amen
