Live Like We Were Dying

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Mark 13:4a

Tell us, when will these things happen?

O-bservation:

Jesus had just told His disciples about the coming destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Some of His disciples wanted to know when it would happen.

A-pplication:

There’s just something about being human that makes us want to know the future. I doubt that animals have any thought about the future except, “Where’s my next meal coming from?” Not so with we humans. We want to know what the future holds, but then somehow we don’t really think we’re going to die. Here’s the truth, we don’t know what the future holds and we will die (Heb. 9:27). Where does that leave us? To be honest we need to, “Live Like We Were Dying.” The reason I say that is because we ARE! And … since we don’t know when, we need to be ready to stand before the Lord at any moment. People say, “I’ll wait for a better time to believe.” Or, “I’ve got plenty of time before I need to think about death.” But since none of us really know, that’s an idiotic statement. Since we don’t know when the Lord will call us home, let’s “Live Like We Were Dying.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m ready! Amen
