Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 111:1
Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
O-bservation:
King David was unashamed when it came to giving God praise. “The Council of the Upright” and “The Assembly” would have represented the Leaders of Israel. Obviously David was the King so everyone was under his dominion; however, his immediate “Sphere of Influence” would have assembled within these two groups.
A-pplication:
All of us have a “Sphere of Influence.” Whether it’s large or small, the team that is immediately next to you or me is what I’m referring to as … “My Sphere of Influence.” That’s the team that is always aware of your “Stand” on the issues. In other words, where do you stand and operate as it relates to these 3 categories: Laws, Morals and Ethics. Also, where do you stand on Faith? Once you are solid on where you stand, your “Sphere of Influence” has a better understanding on how to respond to your leadership. Leadership is measured by the impact of a leader’s “Stand” upon his or her own “Sphere of Influence.” David had that locked up. He was happy to publicly “Give God Praise” before “The Council of the Upright” and “The Assembly.” They were his immediate “Sphere of Influence.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I will take time today to really consider “My Sphere of Influence.” I don’t want to live and reach to others “OUT There” until I have fully invested my life and faith into my immediate “Sphere of Influence.” Amen
