Sometimes Even God Has A Bad Day

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

John 7:5

For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

O-bservation:

Earlier in the text, Jesus’ brothers had wanted Him to go to Judea so others could see the miracles He was doing. But the amazing thing about this request is that even His own brothers didn’t believe in Him.

A-pplication:

In Mark 6:3, we learn that Jesus had four brothers and two sisters from his parents. Two of the brothers have books named for them in the Bible. Those brothers’ names are James and Jude. Remember, they had probably witnessed Jesus turning water into wine. And they were probably there for the feeding of the 5,000. They had witnessed some amazing miracles, but they still didn’t believe in their own brother. Have you ever been impressed with someone before, but still weren’t sure of them? What usually happens is that you try to get others to believe in them to help your unbelief go away. That’s exactly what Jesus’ brothers were doing. They had grown up watching Him and had seen several of His miracles, but … “Our brother is the Son of God? No way!” They had seen a lot and were still struggling to believe. Here they were, in the presence of God, but they couldn’t buy it! “Sometimes Even God Has a Bad Day!” But even when His own brothers didn’t believe, He stayed the course. If you’re having a bad day, so has God. Just stay the course and do what you know God wants you to do.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am usually quick to say I’m having a bad day. Rarely have I ever considered that You have experienced bad days too. Help me “Stay The Course” today, just like You! Amen
