Who? Really! Who?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 14:27

For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?

O-bservation:

Isaiah makes two statements and asks two questions in this passage. He says, “Once God has purpose to do something who can change his mind? Once He moves on something who can stop Him?”

A-pplication:

All you have to do is be an occasional reader of world history, or just watch the evening news, to know that few people have ever read Isaiah 14:27. It is impossible for any one of us, through our own acts of independence, to get God to change His mind. Who could do that? Really, I’m serious! Who? When Scripture speaks of God stretching out His hand, it’s speaking of Him moving into action to accomplish His purpose. Who could possibly stop Him from acting it out? Really! Who? The answer to both of those “Who Could” questions is … No one and surely not I. However, too many folks operate with the idea that if there is a God, certainly He has a different set of plans on how I can operate. Unfortunately for we independent operators, God is God and we are peanuts in comparison. He changes not. So probably … “We Should,” Really!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You love us all the same, but have a unique plan for each one of us. This AM, I am reminded that I’m the one who needs to do the changing. REALLY! Amen

Is pray that I could be part of God’s plan. If I am left in the darkness, I am afraid that He might not see me. I therefore would like to shine in the bright light of His love.
