Real Christian Friendship

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Acts 21:1
After we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Kos.

O-bservation:

I chose this passage to write on today because it shows “Real Christian Friendship!” I know it’s Valentine’s Day, but instead of talking about romantic love, I’d like to talk about Christian Friendship. Paul and several others of his close friends were leaving Ephesus for the last time, and the human bond Paul had built with these leaders in Ephesus was remarkable. He says we had to “Tear Ourselves Away!”

A-pplication:

You don’t build anything that lasts with enemies. NO! Anything that lasts is usually built with the help of friendship. In this case, St Paul had helped to build the first Christian Church in Ephesus. The friendship and lasting bonds that were formed over the years through this body of believers caused them to not want to let go of Paul, when they knew this would be the last time they would see him. “Real Christian Friendship,” causes the devil to run and hide.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
It is my decision today to drive the devil far from me with the Christian Friendships you’ve given me through the years. Today I lift up my hands and give you praise for like-minded men and women of faith who stand with me! Amen
