Oh God, Please Forget About It!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 25:7
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.

O-bservation:

At first look, I’m reminded of the little boy (me) sitting outside of the principal’s office for something I had done. David, on the other hand, has been a true servant of God, and as an adult is almost begging God not to remember the sins of his youth.

A-pplication:

The sins of one’s youth are usually easily recalled by most any adult. I can start down a list of youthful sins that, at least once a week, I’m basically saying to the Lord, “Oh God, Please Forget About It!” But God has way too much for you and me to do for His Kingdom to be concerned about your past sins, which He has already forgiven. After He forgave you, He began calling you up higher. If you keep reminding Him about your youthful sins, you may just hear God whisper to you, “Oh Rich, Why Don’t You Forget About Your Youthful Sins?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
Once, you forgave me of my sins many years ago. I’m still ashamed of some of the things I did back then. Thank you for forgetting all you forgave me of. Amen
