Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
O-bservation:
God placed the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” in the Garden of Eden as a test for Adam and Eve. The test was whether Adam and Eve would be faithful stewards of God’s property or would they instead take ownership of what wasn’t theirs? When the serpent (Lucifer) appeared to them and questioned God, Adam and Eve also began to question God instead of trusting God. That began their FALL.
A-pplication:
There’s a difference between researching God’s word and questioning God’s authority. The enemy of our soul is crafty. He looks for any opportunity to tempt you and me into questioning the authority of our God. Once we question God’s authority, we now move into the arena of doubt. Questioning God = Doubt. Trusting God = Faith. The Apostle Paul said, “everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23b). When it comes to our Great God, it’s always an issue of … “Question vs. Trust.” Today I choose to TRUST in God.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With Your help, today I will exercise my Faith and silence my Doubt. I will not Question Your authority, but instead I will Trust You fully! Amen
