Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 6:8
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
O-bservation:
There came a time, early on in human history, where man’s state of sin and degradation was so rampant on the earth that God’s heart was broken. The Scripture says that God was sorry that he had ever made man. However there was one man, named Noah, who found favor with God for his righteous lifestyle. He and his family were the only ones saved from the flood that destroyed the rest of humanity.
A-pplication:
Noah lived for God’s favor. In order to do that, he lived against the tide of human approval. He was not concerned with what people thought of him. He did not roll with the wave of existentialism that was the order of that day. I can only say in response to Noah’s life that God will take care of His own when they … “Live For Heaven’s Favor.” As in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, God would have spared those cities if Abram could have found 10 righteous people. He could not. And here God spared Noah and his family. They found favor with God. Let’s agree on this directive … “Live For Heaven’s Favor.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
You know even better than I do, that all “Followers of Jesus” live under intense peer pressure. Today I’m living for Your favor. Amen
