Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 7:7
Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.
O-bservation:
Moses had led a long life in comparison to today’s standards. He had lived 40 years in luxury and splendor as the adopted son of a King, and then he lived another 40 years in relative obscurity as a simple shepherd. But at 80 years of age, God felt Moses was ready for the biggest leadership task in history. His brother and Prophet, Aaron, was three years older than Moses. Moses lived another 40 years and changed the course of history by leading Israel out of Egypt bondage.
A-pplication:
As time goes by, I’m hearing it more and more from friends and associates, “I’m a little too old for that!” However, when you observe the life of Moses, the question arises … “How Old Is Too Old?” Most of the New Testament Apostles died at a fairly young age, but that’s because they were martyred for Jesus. John the Beloved survived being boiled in hot oil and lived to be 100! He was probably 90 when he wrote “The Revelation!” The enemy of our souls wants us all, young and old alike, to be silenced from sharing the “Good News” of Jesus. Never, ever play into his hand with that old “I’m Too Old” line. With Jesus on your side … “How Old Is Too Old?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Whatever my age, I will always thank You for the Spirit of Youth and Vitality flowing through me! If You call me to it … I know You will give me strength to do it! Amen
