Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 75:1
We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.
O-bservation:
The King of Israel, David, is caught up in a moment of gratitude to God. When it relates to God Almighty, gratitude toward Him is always followed by our praise for Him. But David said what all true believers think when they’re in trouble, “Your Name Is Near.” As in … “Jesus help me.”
A-pplication:
Whenever a “Follower of Jesus” is in a time of real peril or deep stress, they usually think or say … “Oh Jesus Help Me!” There are different variations of that phrase, like God help me or Lord get me outta this, but they all boil down to the fact that His name is always NEAR. That’s probably because He Himself is right here with me. He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me (Deut. 31:6b). Since I’m aware that Jesus is always right here with me, it means “His Name is Near.” I can call on His name with a simple whisper because He’s here with me right now … “Jesus.” King David also said, “His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1b). When trouble comes, don’t curse His name as if He caused it; instead, praise His name because He can get you out of it. Thank you Jesus … “Your Name Is Near.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so thankful this AM that I just have to praise You. “Your Name Is Near.” I don’t have time to call on or praise another. I will praise You alone. Amen

This devotions is much comforting to me because it is true that Jesus is always with the believer. He is a whisper away and I must not forget it when the pressure is up. I pray at night that I will remember to call on the name of Jesus when the angel of death will come by my bed.
