It May Seem Like It … BUT … It’s Not Over!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 69:1

Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.

O-bservation:

Whether David was up to his neck in water or not, he was certainly in over his head in some way or another. He asked God to save him, because there wasn’t much room left for him to breathe. He thought it was over.

A-pplication:

Obviously it wasn’t over for David. He lived to see many more days after this one, dreadful experience. I remember as a boy trying to rescue a plastic boat a buddy had loaned my friend and me. We were little guys, playing out in the middle of the canal. All of a sudden, the little plastic boat flipped over and my friend immediately swam for shore. But I had my hand holding on to that sinking, plastic boat that had flipped over. It kept pulling me under, but I couldn’t let go because I didn’t have the money to buy my buddy another boat. Somehow, I made it to shore with the plastic boat in hand. I was sure I was going to die. I remember reeling off every sin I’d ever committed and asking God to forgive me. “It seemed like for me … it was over.” But it wasn’t! You may feel like the water’s up to your neck, and the next thing is … IT’S OVER. But I’m here today to let you know it’s not your time yet. I feel in my spirit today that God isn’t finished using you yet. So believe it today. “It May Seem Like It … BUT … It’s Not Over!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I will never give in to the approaching flood. It’s not over! I won’t move in my feelings, but rather I will move in the FAITH You’ve given me today! Amen
