Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Joshua 3:5
Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”
O-bservation:
The night before Israel was to begin their takeover of Canaan, their “Promised Land,” Joshua directed the people to wholly commit themselves to God. In other words, “Get Yourself Ready,” because tomorrow God is going to begin an amazing miracle in your midst.
A-pplication:
Let the record show that people like Cain, Esau, Haman, the Sons of Eli, the Five Foolish Virgins, and Judas Iscariot were all people who failed to “Get Themselves Ready” for a great work of God in their life. These are just a few of the people who made that mistake in the Bible, and then you can imagine people down through the ages who also failed before their potential finest hour ever came about. Why? Because they either thought they had more time or thought they could sneak in the back door. I believe that God has already marked every man and every woman for greatness. Why is it that so many fail to maximize their opportunity when it comes? Perhaps it’s because the vast majority of them fail to “Get Themselves Ready.” Preparation is always the main requirement for triumph. Not only on this side of heaven, but in the world to come as well. Whatever you have to do … “Get Yourself Ready!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
As this day begins to unfold, once again I want to consecrate myself to You. I want to “Get Myself Ready” for whatever Victory you have for me. Amen
