Man’s Limited Perspective

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 11:17

We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

O-bservation:

The Apostle John had a vision of heaven and spoke of the twenty-four elders seated on their thrones in heaven falling down to the floor to worship the Lord. They praised the Lord and lauded Him because He had begun to reign.

A-pplication:

Some have argued as to the identity of the twenty-four elders who have thrones in heaven. Many evangelical writers say they represent the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve New Testament disciples (Iscariot of course replaced by Matthias). The challenge I have is what appears to be a “Limited Perspective.” Maybe it was all “lost in translation” in this passage, but when John records the words of the elders, saying, “You (speaking of Almighty God) have taken Your great power and have begun to reign,” it reminds me of “Man’s Limited Perspective” of things here on earth. God has always fully reigned, from the beginning of time as we know it. Never once has God not fully reigned. Yet here on earth, we mortals interpret God’s operations from our own “Limited Perspective.” Remember … although you and I have limitations, our Great God has NONE!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I acknowledge this AM Your total rule and reign over everything, both seen and unseen. Even though I am limited, You are UNLIMITED. That’s why You’re God, and Your my God. Amen
