Man Up!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Corinthians 6:20

You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

O-bservation:

Paul was talking to believers who were battling the temptation of sexual immorality. He told them that they had been bought with a price, meaning the death and resurrection of the Lord. Consequently, Paul said, “Honor God with your bodies.”

A-pplication:

Yes, the context of much of this chapter has to do with sexual immorality. Yet honoring God with our bodies includes health. Health sometimes is on us. If eating habits are horrible and weight is out of control, how is that honoring to God? We love to preach against immorality, but what about another sin known as gluttony? You and I were both bought by Jesus with a heavy price. We must decide that not only will we live pure lives morally, but we will also live clean lives health wise. We will monitor what goes into our bodies and how much. We will also move into good, daily, healthy exercise in order to bring our bodies under control as Paul spoke of in 1 Corinthians 9:27. The best term I can think of when it comes to getting in shape morally and physically is, it’s time to … “Man Up!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I truly desire moral and physical purity in my body. Today I make a fresh covenant with You that with Your help I will “Man Up!” Amen
