S-cripture:

Psalm 69:9

For zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.

O-bservation:

King David talked a lot about the House of the Lord. He couldn’t get enough of what, today, we call CHURCH. Here he told the Lord that he had such a ZEAL for the Lord’s house that it literally consumed him.

A-pplication:

The King had such a love for the House of the Lord, and even more so the presence of the Lord.  Here are just a few of David’s statements about CHURCH: “Better is one day in your court than a thousand elsewhere” (Ps. 84:10a). “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked” (Ps. 84:10b). “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish!” (Ps. 92:13). He spent years drawing plans and saving money so his son Solomon could one day build a permanent Temple for the Lord. In light of David’s passion, all of us must ask ourselves, Do I have … “A Zeal For The House Of The Lord?”
