Make Room For God Today

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 10:4

In his pride the wicked man does not see him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

O-bservation:

The Psalmist and King, David, writes about the person who lives for his or her own desires and nothing else. David makes an unusual statement when he says, “In this person’s entire thought life there is no room for God.”

A-pplication:

All of us know a LOT when we’re young. I remember early on there really wasn’t that much to know. I had the bare essentials … food, clothing, and shelter. But each year, as I grew, I realized that I really needed to know more. By the time I reached young adult life, I began to understand just how little I knew. At this point in life, with each passing year I actually feel like I’m losing ground when it comes to Scholarship. My point is simply that the older I get the more I think about God. I need God more than ever. I’m becoming so reliant upon God that some would even say God has become my crutch. The truth is, God is not my crutch—he is my EVERYTHING! In reading this verse this AM, I thought … “Maybe I’m not the dumb one.” God is always in my thoughts. Maybe the dumb guy is the guy who is so full of himself that there isn’t even room for God in his brain. Who’s kidding whom? Whatever you do … “Make Room For GOD Today!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Today I’m at peace because You’re always on my mind! I’ve never considered myself to be very Holy, but if wicked means I never think about You … well, I must be closer to Holy than I am to wicked. Amen
