S. O. A. P.
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 50:20
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
O-bservation:
After Jacob passed away, the 10 sons of Jacob who were responsible for selling Joseph into slavery years earlier came to Joseph, laid prostrate before him, and begged for their lives. They assumed that now that their father was dead, surely Joseph would have them annihilated. But Joseph wasn’t like them. He said, “you wanted to kill me, but God wanted to save me. The outcome is the salvation of many lives.”
A-pplication:
Many people know that they truly have issues. And, they assume that everyone around them is just like them. But the truth is … “That’s just not true!” I believe that’s not true of YOU! It certainly wasn’t true of Joseph. In all of his afflictions, he loved the Lord and loved the very ones who had despitefully used him. In fact he couldn’t wait to be reunited with them one day. In time, he was. Whatever affliction you have experienced that were brought on by someone else’s cruelty, REMEMBER … “You’re Not Like Them.” You will recover and you will forgive.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You this AM that You have redeemed me. And because You did I don’t have to respond they way I used to respond. I know You’re grace will help me forgive again today! Amen
