Bug GOD, And, Don’t Stop!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 18:7

And will God not bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

O-bservation:

A few verses earlier, Jesus had shared a story about a persistent woman who kept appearing before the Judge’s desk. He was an atheist and didn’t care about people, but she just wouldn’t quit pleading with him for justice. Finally he relented and gave her what she wanted. Jesus said, don’t you think that your Heavenly Father, who actually loves you, will hear your cry if you’re persistent and don’t quit asking?

A-pplication:

Do YOU really desire this thing YOU have been asking God for? As a father of four grown sons, I can remember as little boys each one of them would come to me with their requests. I would often appear to be disinterested. After a while they would quit asking. However, there were times that each one of them just wouldn’t give up. They would bug me, and bug me, and finally I would give them their request. Mostly it was about me waiting to know if this was just another whim or if it was a real desire of their heart. If it was a good thing, I would meet their desires (Mk. 11:24). The question is, do you really earnestly desire this thing? If you do … then don’t quit! “Bug GOD, And Don’t Stop!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You know the times when I’m just asking to be asking. But then You know when I’ve got to have it and that’s when I’m persistent. I hate to bug You, but I believe You want me to, so I won’t stop! Amen
