S-cripture:
Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
O-bservation:
The “Mission of God” from Genesis to Revelation is Redemption and Blessing for all humankind. And here we see Jesus on the “Mission.” He told the religious crowd He was with on this occasion … “I didn’t come for people like you, who know it all, Â I came for people who have completely lost their way and don’t know how to get home to Me.”
A-pplication:
Those of us who have been “Found” and “Blessed” by God must now go hunting ourselves. We must at all times be on the lookout for people who have lost their way. Whatever we do to earn money in order to live we will do. But the rest of our time will be the best of our time because it is our joy to seek out or hunt for people who have lost their way. And when God finds them through us, we are not called to tell them what lousy wretches they are. NO! God has called us to “BLESS” the lost we find all the way to heaven. According to Scripture: It’s the Goodness or Kindness of the Lord that leads men and women to repentance (Romans 2:4, paraphrase). “Let’s Go Hunting!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Please lead me today on a search for someone who has lost his or her way. And when I find them, let me with Grace bless them into new life in Jesus. Amen
