Let’s Give God Our Best!

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Leviticus 1:3a

If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect.

O-bservation:

As the book of Leviticus unfolds, God tells Moses what is expected from the people in the way of offerings to Him. In this first directive the Lord says, “You’re to offer a burnt offering of a male animal from a herd, one without defect.”

A-pplication:

Over and over in the first several chapters of Leviticus, God told His people to bring Him their “Best Offering.” The best sheep from the flock, the finest flour, and the finest olive oil were all descriptive of the kind of offering God desired from His people THEN, and from all of us NOW.  The message is … “Give God Your Best!” To be honest with you, I have been in a line of work where I have been able to see people physically “TIP” The Lord. For four decades, I have watched as a minister, as Jesus did, while people give offerings. Many of those people I knew personally. They are what we ministers call, “God Tippers.” At the same time, I’ve watched the Lord keep shining His sun on them, keep raining His rain on them, and keep them fed and clothed and nurtured. What I’m saying is that God asks for our best. We know He will keep His word to us. Instead of looking at the resources we have as our own, it’s time to realize that God owns it all. Since we are stewards of His stuff, “Let’s Give God Our Best!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I don’t ever want to be a “God Tipper” when it comes to my Time, Treasure, and Talent. I’m more excited than ever for You to have all of me. Amen
