Law Keeping Or Faith Believing?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Galatians 3:5

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

O-bservation:

The question the Apostle Paul posed to the Galatians was easy to hear but hard to answer. Does the presence of God you feel and the miracles of God you witness occur because of your faith or because of your works?

A-pplication:

Certainly it’s true that faith without works is dead. And true men and women of Faith are called to a higher standard of living. But it’s also true that the “Just” shall live by faith! The Galatians were retreating from the way they had started their walk with Jesus. Initially they had moved away from their laws and customs of “doing life” to embrace their new found faith in Jesus, but at this point they were going back to their old ways. That’s usually true of new “Followers of Jesus.” At the outset there is an utter dependence on JESUS, and miracles are happening at every turn. But in time, a routine can set in where the Lord’s presence is accepted as commonplace and miracles become … “ho-hum.” Pretty soon, real relationship with and faith in Jesus is gone. Between “Law Keeping or Faith Believing,” I’ll emphasize the latter. Real faith will always keep us strong in practice.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m happy to start this new day with FAITH. Once again I need to feel You with me, and as You already know … I need a Miracle! Amen
