Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
John 8:14a
Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going.”
O-bservation:
Once again, Jesus was forced into an intense discussion with His arch nemeses, “The Pharisees.” Standing alone, Jesus told the group that He was acting as His own defense. Even though He was by Himself, He made it clear that His testimony was accurate. He said He knew where He had come from, but He also knew where He was going.
A-pplication:
When asked for one’s family of origin or upbringing, no matter how beautiful or sordid it may be, most people can tell you where they came from. However, the sad fact is, most people really aren’t sure where they’re going. They can tell you they’re going to work, or on a holiday, or to a movie, or even home. But to answer the question, “where are you going in life?” is daunting for most. Jesus knew were He had come from, but He also knew where He was going. I found out years ago that … “I Know Where I’m Going,” because one day, Jesus found me.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m thankful that because of Your saving grace I know the way home. “I Know Where I’m Going.”
